About
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is facing a financial crisis that has only been made worse due to a lack of leadership and accountability within the agency. The Taxpayers Protection Alliance (TPA), and our partner organizations in this effort, want to put the USPS on a path toward fiscal solvency, coupled with a single focus of carrying out the original mission of the Postal Service: delivering the mail.
The USPS continues to ignore the crisis in their balance sheet with $5 billion in losses during 2015, with more than $50 billion in losses over the last decade. This type of financial instability cannot continue and it is up to the agency to find a way to solve the problem without wasting money or compromising core services.
It is time for the USPS to get back to their core mission of delivering the mail. The Board of Governors must be adequately filled so that they can be a part of bringing real reform and needed fiscal management to an agency that is losing billions of dollars every year. TPA and our partner organizations in this effort will continue to fight so that the USPS can realize real reforms and a manageable balance sheet.
